Im black so I can say this; black people get on my nerves sometimes. I guess cause Im aware of the attached stigmas, I hold us to a higher standard; which is a recipe for disaster. So when I see black folks not meeting the standards Ive set for my own self (the standards that prevent white America from looking down on me, which really arent high at all come to think about it), I get frustrated with my people. At this point I feel we should have pretty much mastered double consciousness. Is it too much to EXPECT black people to have an on/off switch for our bruh man/nigga mode or sista gurl mode?
