Im bummed. Our next door neighbor has had a pair of minis left on his property by a friend that was supposed to take care of them. Alice was contacted by the neighbor who told us that the owner wants to sell them for $1,000 dollars. They are in pathetic shape, one of them looks like she wont last another week! She is nothing but skin and bones. We talked to the neighbor to tell the owner wed give him a $100 for each of them. I guess the owners in jail! We are starting to feed them some alfalfa a few ounces every two hours. And will put a coat on the weak one tonight, as its going to be very cold tonight. They both could be beautiful horses if taken care of but we could be spending a lot of money to rehabilitate them. It could be heartbreaking if we lose the weak one. We are reluctant to contact animal control because we are afraid they will put the two minis down, without trying to rescue them. We also dont want to get our neighbor in trouble. He has some goats, and takes good care of them. What to do! What to do!
