Im considering setting up an event at the UBCO in which professionals would present on their writing-based careers to student-- giving background as to how they came into their jobs, and how they use creative writing during their daily tasks. This would be a roughly 90-minute event featuring three presenters. The idea behind it would be to go beyond the novelist/poet relationship in creative writing. Theres understandably a lot of focus on that, but Id like to present alternatives that exist in the professional sector-- something that a student could use their degree towards post-grad. My question is, would this be of interest to you students (and potential visitors)? Or a better question would be: would this be of enough interest that you would likely attend such an event?
