Im down to two choices. 1. Jay killed Hae. And his motive was to get Stephanie away from Adnan by framing him for murder and acting like he was protecting her. Its evident Stephanie was out of Jays league, her parents didnt like him, she was his weakness, etc. And it seems like hed do just about anything to keep her. Plus, it didnt hurt that he dressed Colombine-y in 1999. How convenient for Jay that he was never a suspect in Haes murder and that he was the prosecutions big witness in their case against their only suspect, Adnan. So the cops and the prosecution were willing to believe whatever lies Jay said without digging any deeper (no pun intended). They just wanted it done. Jay got two years probation, a thank you to the judge from his attorney and got to leave the court with Stephanie. I wish Jay or Jenn or Stephanie would be interviewed. I wish we could hear those pre-interviews Jay did with the cops 15 years ago. I want to know if Nisha and Jay were actually friends. I want to know more about Jays relationship with Stephanie. But those things would all hurt Jay, so they dont exist. And didnt Jay initially say he helped Adnan because he was the criminal element in their town, not because Adnan was forcing him? 2. Adnan killed Hae. But he didnt do it at Best Buy. Thats why he was adamant about not being able to get to Best Buy from school on time. And I dont like that he didnt testify in court. But I still dont know what his motive would be. I think Jay did it. I just cant explain away why they were in that park together the night of the murder. Goddammit.
