Im feeling thankful that Tim is better. After a weekend of feeling rotten and and prolonged bouts of hiccups we ended up at the new Oviedo ER on Sunday night. They stopped the hiccups, did a number of tests and discovered a very low sodium count. He was transported to the ICU at Winter Park Hospital where they monitored him closely and continued to try to get his sodium levels gradually back to normal. Last night he moved to the PCU and if his sodium continues to rise he can go home tomorrow. We have learned a great deal about low sodium and adrenal crisis. If you google them youll see that he was in danger of seizures, swelling in the brain and other really bad things. We are thankful for the new ER and for doctors and nurses at WPH. We are thankful for the neighbors who stayed with mom all night while we were at the ER and for the one who cut our grass. Im thankful for Steve and Betty Wiseman who came to the ER for support and visited Tim each day. We are thankful for your prayers, calls, texts and visits. In a way, we are thankful for hiccups. Without them we might have waited too long to seek help.
