Im genuinely very sad - a close personal friend, a Christian, has deleted me and told me she thinks I dont help the cause of peace because I use hate speech and take sides. She said we should just pray for peace for everyone. I honestly try to never use hateful language against anyone, so this has upset me. I pray for peace every day, but I genuinely believe that, as a Christian, I have a duty to speak out against injustice - its what Jesus always did. I also believe Jesus told us to speak the truth, and that is why I post so many things about what is going on in Israel-Palestine - because I know the truth is not being told and it must come into the light. I dont hate anyone, genuinely. But I do believe we should get angry at injustice, and we should demand an end to bullying, intimidation and theft from one people by another. Yes, pray like mad for peace, but work for justice too, because without justice nobody will have peace... no Palestinian, no Israeli, not a single one of us.
