Im going to be joining a folk band in the near future in Hangzhou, and was asking the band members on advice for doing improv. Its all about feeling, the drum player said. It all comes down to the Circle of Fifths and playing according to the chord progressions, the violin player said as he scribbled down often-used chords for me on staff paper.
