Im going to go out on a limb here and say that if people loved strangers like they love their cats, there would be a lot less hungry, sick and dejected humans in the world. Its not a stretch to think of Humans as cute like you would an animal. By the same token, a wild bear can tear you apart, but that doesnt mean they cant be seen as cute. Sometimes animals can even outsmart humans, like when the cat I want to feed asks for food just to back off to allow his mom to eat. So it goes for Humans, if people see Humans as just another cute animal the world would be a lot better place.
