If you dont stand up to a known terrorist group that is dangerous and growing at a frightening rate, the reason you dont do that is because you feel intimidated by them. Then, by definition, they are starting to control your foreign policy, and in the end its not your independent foreign policy decided by New Zealander, That could just as easily be changed to : Not taking part out of fear of economic & trade reprisals would, in effect, hand control of New Zealands independent foreign policy to The United States. If you dont stand up to the US pressure, that is dangerous and growing at a frightening rate, the reason you dont do that is because you feel intimidated by them, and their control over your economic interests. Then, by definition, they are starting to control your foreign policy, and in the end its not your independent foreign policy decided by New Zealander #peerpressure
