Today, an individual came to the KIPP Austin Collegiate campus seeking refuge, claiming he was in danger. Our campus staff responded immediately and followed all our safety procedures. The school went into lockdown to ensure the safety of all our students and staff. We called the police, who came to the school and took the individual off our campus. The police conducted an investigation and confirmed that the campus was safe, and we resumed classes. We are sending home a letter to all families today. We would like to thank the campus leadership, staff and students at KIPP Austin Collegiate who acted to keep our community safe during this situation.
