Im honored to be recommended by the Kenosha News. Here is the text if the picture is hard to see: District 6: Doug Williams This is an open seat because State Rep. Tod Ohnstad, who had the seat for this north side district before he was elected to the Assembly, decided not to run for re-election. Doug Williams and Dave Paff were the winners of a four-way primary on Feb. 8. Both are excellent candidates. Williams, 33, works in information technology at Platinum Systems. He is a Neighborhood Watch captain and regularly attends City Council meetings. He has also been on the Redevelopment Authority. He thinks the streetcar expansion is worthwhile simply because of the street repairs that will be done, and he thinks the city has taken some good steps with downtown. He said he would like to help the city streamline the permit processes for businesses. Paff, 48, a firefighter in Waukegan, Ill., expressed concerns about noise and road damage from trucks using streets that are not truck routes. A bike rider whose children compete in bike races at the Washington Park Velodrome, he said the bike track needs rebuilding. He said he is encouraged by downtown development and would like to see the streetcar route expanded. Both candidates are familiar with city issues and have been involved with city government and with activities in District 6. There’s no bad choice in this contest. We lean to Williams in part because of his experience on the Redevelopment Authority.
