Im honored to receive the Legend Award from the Recognize Good organization here in Austin,TX. With over 6,000 nonprofits in our community and thousands of philanthropists that dedicate their lives to serving the under-served, its truly something special to be recognized. Im just one of many that are trying to make a difference in the lives of others. I dont work alone. I have an amazing group of people surrounding me that believe in Harmony and work tirelessly to help make sure our mission of enriching the lives of people with developmental disabilities is reached every day. Thank you to Jill Gonzalez for nominating me-- you are an angel and I bless the day I met you because youre such a sweet, warm and loving soul! Thank you to James Sharkey and Pat Alvarez for providing all of the information without me ever finding out! Thank you to my Board of directors that are so creative and fun to work with!! They include Pat Alvarez, Tina Wilkins, Mandi Holley and Chrislyn Lawrence-- Im honored to work along side of you and make our ideas come to life! Thank you to Grace Kretschmer for making sure Harmony runs as smooth as possible-- You are amazing!! Thanks to Karrie Chambless for always being our rock and sharing your beautiful self with us! Thank you to Alvarez for helping us out and loving our kiddos the way you do! And a very special thank you to my partner in life-- Jim. Without you Harmony would not have been able to grow exponentially like it has. Thank you for living in poverty with me to keep it going! We may not have a lot, but we are totally filthy rich in love. Looking forward to our award celebration ceremony at the end of September!! Also, thank you to the parents and caretakers that share our students with us. They are the reasons we are lucky enough to feel true love and joy every day. We are blessed.
