Im in a dispute with ACS, the company that bought out my student - TopicsExpress

Im in a dispute with ACS, the company that bought out my student loan. I paid $500 to principal (specified this, not to merely advance monthly payment, etc.) They then applied it all to interest, and now they wont correct it. Several phone calls, several emails as to why they wont. Latest reason (Im sticking to email with them now, so I have an electronic paper trail) is that they only except additional payments to principal from the 25th to the 27th of each month. I cant see how this applies with Federal Regulations that prohibit these loan shark student loan companies from penalizing early repayment. Its a matter of them swiping $500 from me, so I dont wan to spend $5,000 to try to recover. But does anyone know what agency or representation I could go to for help? Who oversees (if anyone) these student loan businesses? Thanks for the help.
