Im in the park this afternoon and hear the most appalling language coming from a small group of very young boys. With my mouth on the floor I stand by them not believing what I am hearing, they couldnt have been more than 8 or 9 years old, every other word was F this and F that. So what do I do.....the ex-teacher in me is thinking point out their awful use of Anglo Saxon and leave it at that, or should I just ignore it. Knowing my luck their parent is a huge bloke suffering from the mother of all hangovers and just looking for an excuse to batter someone. So while Im standing there, stunned, and for me that takes some doing a man strolls over and smiles. Are these your kids ? I ask with a big smiley smile yes Their language is terrible I then scarper still beaming with a Im a crazy woman please don;t hit me look on my face. A minute later he comes back over to me and says I didnt understand what you were saying before but I heard them and I am so very sorry A little while later his wife comes over and also apologises thanking me for pointing it out to them. I replied to her that I hope they didnt mind me saying something but if it had been my son I would have wanted to know. Huge relief on my part that they werent lunatic parents itching for a fight.....what would you have done ??
