Im jumping up on my DEPRESSION IS A DISEASE soap box for one very long minute. If you have never faced the deep dark spiral of bottomless depression, then you dont know that no matter the amount of support and love from your family and friends, the accomplishments in your career, or the money in your bank account, it will NEVER fill the emptiness inside you. The truth is that a person can survive ALMOST anything, as long as the light is in sight, but depression is like a black sea where it can be impossible to see anything. Life is very painful at times, and the inability to manage through that pain can lead to devastating consequences. Sometimes no amount of medication or therapy can make you be normal. Normal is not a word that depressed people use. Believe me, no person seeks to feel hopeless and unworthy. For all you assholes that say that depression is NOT a disease and depressed people should snap out of it, dont look for me in your news feed, because I will have already deleted you. End scene.
