Im just thinking of Kaci Hickox the RN from Maine who is making such a stink about being quarantined after caring for Ebola patients. As healthcare professionals we have an obligation to do no harm. If you choose to put yourself in potential danger to care for people with a known deadly disease you have a responsibility to protect others from potential exposure. That being said..as professionals we also have a responsibility to adhere to guidelines put in place to ensure that protection. If a healthcare worker does not follow the guidelines it makes you wonder about professional integrity. Something for future employers to think about.
