Im learning the importance of holding back and just hitting - TopicsExpress

Im learning the importance of holding back and just hitting relatively easy reps. Could have obviously gone up a little bit, but I was happy with this for now. Im also getting a lot more speed off my chest using this new form. I used to bench with my heels down, but I think I like this more. Im getting used to benching on a non-competition bench and Im thinking that when I make the transition back to a good competition bench that I can arch better on and stick better, my numbers should be a bit higher and it will be much easier. My shoulders are also feeling very healthy and I attribute a lot of that to the high volume Ive been doing on face pulls right after benching. One more thing Id like to add is that having a supportive partner can make a world of difference as far as eliminating stress and putting you in the right mind frame to accomplish your goals. The mental aspect of training shouldnt be overlooked and having somebody whos always there for you is huge.
