Im no psychologist, but I wouldnt describe Jesuss actions as insane. Crazy, in the sense that they were very counter-cultural and consistent in the face of clear danger? Probably. But nothing about Jesuss actions would suggest that he was mentally ill. In fact, he displayed extreme self-control and a masterful knowledge of the Old Testament of the Bible. And there is also the fact that other messiahs in his day had very different approaches. Many other who claimed to be the Messiah (Barabas for example) were militant and sought revolution through violence. They were arrested quickly and had short-lived campaigns. Jesus taught peace and growing closer to God and had a ministry that lasted 3 years. If you compare other messiahs to Jesus, there are several clear differences And the fact that he fulfilled the prophecies that only the real messiah was stated by the Old Testament scriptures described could only do. So it boils down to this, you could believe he was completely insane in which all he did and the manner he did it in contradicts that statement or he was who he said he was, As for me, I believe.
