Im no where near a scholar on this, but I have read that debate - TopicsExpress

Im no where near a scholar on this, but I have read that debate over Moses origins does include a view of him as actually an Egyptian and part of it has to do with the etymology of the name. And when you look at his history as a fabled sort of thing - a baby being found by a princess, and then liberated a people, with all those epic things going on along the way - you can see where there is room to accept that there could be some other truth to him besides the one that we see of him from the surface of the text. Now, having said that, I still think its within everyones right to laugh their rear end off when they find claims like this. It is yet another direct attempt to appropriate Jewish history and repurpose it for Palestinian neo-mythology. And obviously he is nothing near a Mohammedan. They never existed yet, and they know this. Not even a Turkish president can boast this asinine claim. They might as well say Al Gore was right there while it all happened.
