Im not a Transformers fan. I think there are reasons why it sacked the box office this weekend, also proving that negative reviews will not keep normal folks looking for a small (three hour!) escape from reality away from theaters. You might think that film critics cant stand Michael Bay - the truth is that theyre probably more obsessed with his work than any other filmmaker. Or at least obsessed with pummeling it whenever given the chance. I have no feelings either way. I think Bay movies are stupid - but I also think Paul Haggiss movies are equally as stupid. I believe your entertainment dollars would have been better spent at Tom Cruises much better - box office flop - Edge of Tomorrow, but thats just preference. From the few legit Transformer fans Ive chatted with they seemed to enjoy Age of Extinction, and thats what most of this business should be about.
