Im not implying that my pilot Mad Dogs Amazon was executed perfectly, but no pilot Ive ever worked on has been. I remember when I first got the script for Weeds I was so put off by the stereotypical banter of the black family in that pilot. Yet, there were so many other good things to consider. The premise was fresh, the talent attached was top notch, Showtime was going through a reinvention of sorts, and that made #Weeds the perfect opportunity. My agents made me aware of all those things, which influenced my final decision to do the show. #MadDogs is kind of the same thing. I get to do something OUTSIDE of Hollywood. I get to engage multiple genres in one show. Come on, these types of creative risks arent being taken on TV anymore. I get to work with #MichaelImperioli (Sopranos), #SteveZahn (Dallas Buyers Club) and #BenChaplin (The Thin Red Line). These actors are really good at what they do. We have #ShawnRyan (creator of The Shield) heading the writing room should our pilot be picked up. This project wreaks of potential and Hollywood is taking note. So, Im going to do whatever I can to get #MadDogs going, because I believe in what this project stands for creatively. Not to mention spending 2-3 months in the Caribbean (#PuertoRico), shooting #MadDogs is my definition of living the dream. The streaming business caters to no one, but its audience and thats where I want to be. So, Im going to promote #MadDogs best I can until its over. bit.ly/MadDogsPilot
