Im not much of a fan for racing and today I was reminded why. RIP two beautiful, gallant horses - such a tragedy and so very, very sad - feeling sick thinking about it. I hate jump racing with a passion (it should be banned!) and I hate the thought of 2 year olds racing - horses take a lot longer than two years to mature and you have to wonder what all that work does to baby bones and internal organs in future years. Dont get me wrong - I admire these athletic horses and have witnessed horses such a Makybe Diva and Black Caviar have successful careers and happy retirements but todays tragedy times two has me very upset! I know horses can be accidents waiting to happen BUT somebody waving a flag in a horses face is not a freak accident, it is stupidity!!!! And poor Admire Rakti - what a pity they eventually got him into the barrier - he tried to stay out!!! Just way too sad :( Apparently 125 horses have died either during a race or post race in the last 12 months - now we can add another two to that :(
