Im planning a group ride to a 448 acre ranch that SDG&E helped the U.S. Forest Service acquire and incorporate. The Oak Ridge Ranch property is in the Cleveland National Forest. Located between El Capitan Mountain and El Capitan Reservoir, the area is characterized by rare, native oak species and wildflowers. It is also an ideal habitat for the threatened coastal California gnatcatcher. The staging area will be at Our friends ranch on El Monte Rd. just past the 5 mile marker on the left. There is plenty of room for parking (address details later) . I have been up there three times and know the area fairly well. There is no water up there. Its about a 1.5 hour ride up and how ever long we want to linger on the ranch. bring a lunch and your favorite drink. Would like to see how many would be interested. All are invited.
