Im posting this from my other page. I spent all day in a training class with Tetra LLC. Patrol Carbine Class. In this case I used my .300 Blackout with the 9 barrel made by AAC. The AAC PDW. On it was an Eotech XPS 2 with a Magpul front sight. Everything worked flawlessly. Shoulder to shoulder...raise and fire! Back up...shoot five...drop and hang! Running, gunning, shooting, moving, standing, kneeling, laying down in the grass. Hot brass zinging across your line of vision...hitting you in the head, bouncing off of your gun. The El Presidente . Three targets. 10 yards. Shoot two on target 1, Shoot two on target 2, shoot 2 on target 3,shoot 2 more on target 3, come back to target 2 and shoot two more, come back to target 1 shoot two. Do it as quickly as you can and still be accurate. Shooter ready? BEEEEEEP! Bang Bang!... Bang Bang!... Bang Bang Bang Bang!... Bang Bang!... Bang Bang! Team Drills...One shoots high, one shoots low. Get up, move as a unit...on the ladder. From the high position, from the middle then down low. Two rounds each time. Communicate..municate..municate! You go high, Ill go low. Lets Go! Running, shuffling, watch that muzzle...reload! Next target....you go right...low...Ill go left...high. Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang...Lets go!...Double window...you go right low...Ill go left high. Bang Bang...Bang Bang...Bang Bang...Lets go...up to the line...shoot two on all 4 targets up close and personal. Control you breathing...yea...thats easy for you to say...you didnt just run 50 yards..Sight picture...trigger...e on heart...slow down will ya? Ahh...now youve got the idea. How good is your equipment? (Instructor takes his Glock 17 and tosses it over his shoulder 20 feet high and 15 yards to the right as we stand there and gasp! It hits the ground with a dull thud. He casually walks over to it and sticks it in his holster as if nothing happened. That certainly got everyones attention! So you think youre a pretty good shooter huh? Let me see your magazine... Instructor takes magazine and throws it 20 yards to the right. GO GO GO! Two shots on each target! Go! In a mild state of shock as you realize he just threw your magazine in the dirt and you have to find it...run to the target while loading and shoot! Thank God I was using the indestructible P Mags rather than the aluminum ones! So now you have a small idea of what Patrol Carbine was like. Practical training that would have most Range Masters peeing in their pants and gun controllers everywhere changing their drawers if they really new how some people were training. Around 200 rounds fired. Moving and shooting. Moving and shooting with a team mate. Reloading on the move. On the fast...on the ready. Shooting to slide lock. Tactical reloads..bat reloads. All in all...I was impressed. The lead trainer Robert Retford, of Tetra LLC did an excellent job instructing the class. Laid back, very helpful, easy to understand, overall excellent instruction. I would highly recommend taking any class through Tetra LLC. Every shooter there was a good shot. Very few misses through out the day. There were no beginners there. Realist training of value. The only thing we lacked were people shooting back. Of course...its hard to learn from your mistakes that way.
