Im posting this in case a few of you have not heard that Mrs Velmer Smith passed away. She was our parish historian. She spent thousands of hours of research of our past. If you get a chance , visit the USO and see her WWII memorabilia. You will be impressed. A great deal of the writings and pictures I have up on the fb site, history of beauregard parish should be credited to Velmer. The inspiration I had to do the historical gallery on the cityofderidder.org site came from Velmer. Please pray for Velmer.
