Im pretty used to having a nontraditional lifestyle, but as - TopicsExpress

Im pretty used to having a nontraditional lifestyle, but as amazing as they have been, the past few months have been the most disorienting of my life. Part of it is because the things Im used to having around (my kids and dogs) have moved out, and part of it is because my role in the world changed kinda drastically when my book came out. And with how often Im traveling, I rarely can figure out where I am when I wake up in the morning because Im in a new place every day. I almost never sleep because my pretty little brain wont stop racing. Mostly, it says, WTF? a lot. Throw in an extremely wait and see kind of future, teaching three classes, and trying to do publicity for the book, and what you have is a recipe for an identity crisis. Which is why I feel so very lucky to have seen my Peacemakers this weekend. The second their music starts playing, Im home. Its an incredibly visceral sensation. It feels like warmth sweeping over me. Im so freaking lucky to have such a rock in my life. (Bad pun intended.) On New Years Eve, I will have been following the band (and when I say following, I mean FOLLOWING) for 15 years. When I sang, Is it true its always happy hour here? If it is Id like to stay awhile, for the first time, I apparently meant it.
