Im probably done hiking 14ers for the year, but yesterday I hiked Almagre Mtn (12,372 ft), the second highest mountain in the Colorado Springs skyline. Unfortunately there were some clouds, so I wasnt able to get the best view pictures. BUT... I was buzzed several times by Blackhawk helicopters, doing training runs. One circled way around twice, then came low and slowly toward me.. pretty intimidating! It hovered and landed about 100 yards away from me. One of the guys waved back, then it took off and dove into the valley. One of the coolest things Ive seen in a while. Made my day. :) USA!!
