Im really sick of all the folks who seem to get off on pointing - TopicsExpress

Im really sick of all the folks who seem to get off on pointing fingers, second guessing, and trying to fire or trade everyone who, lets remember, have simply lost two games after a 96 win season. Im as disappointed as anyone with the way this series has gone, but looking at this with any sort of rational thought tells you that no matter who you put on the mound, or at what time, scoring 3 runs in 27 innings aint gonna cut it. Why have the bats suddenly gone so cold? The layoff has to be a big part of it, but have we been fast track bullies, beating up on the weaklings on the NL East while maybe not being so good against decent teams? There may be something to that. Looking at our OPS vs. 500.+ teams as opposed to teams under .500, shows we were better than average against the bad teams (.736 vs. a league average of .717), but below average against the good teams (.660 vs. a league average of .683). Among the regulars, Span, Rendon, Desmond, and Zimmerman were all below average against the good teams and showed a drop-off of at least .150. LaRoche was good vs. both, but still dropped .078 points vs. the good teams. Werth, Harper, Cabrera, and Ramos somehow were better against the best. Take it for what its worth, but here are all the regulars OPS vs. teams under .500, vs. teams .500+, and their drop-off (or gain) vs. the good teams: Rendon (.893/.659, -.234) Desmond (.797/.620, -.177) Span (.821/.655, -.166) Zimmerman (.836/.680, -.156) LaRoche (.838/ .760, -.078) Harper (.756/.798, +.042) Werth (.833/.887, +.054) Ramos (.652/.821, +.169) Cabrera (.656/.836, +.180)
