Im reminded that we are to be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. The devil doesnt take vacations or holidays. His desire is to divide and conquer from the pulpit to the door. Its obvious from the attention it receives in the epistles that false teaching was a major issue in the early church. Its equally obvious that faulty love was a problem too. Therefore the apostle John writes, By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother (1Jn 3:10). This is more of an issue than you may think. Pray that love would mark us in this era of church plants and growth. It would be ashamed to plant churches that grow in every way except love. Again I recall the apostle John, for this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another (1Jn 3:11). So simple and yet so challenging do. May the Spirit empower us to love in deed even those who do us wrong. #Amen.
