Im sharing this because the original post had comments, but offered no option for _my_ comments. I think these people are harming no one by burning books, but it sets a dangerous example and precedent, and I would not participate. Many Christians believe that the KJV is Gods Preferred Version because they believe it was the _first ever_ English translation (although Im pretty sure its not). Todays Christians are (rightly) concerned that contemporary translators will be influenced by todays ideas which may change the original meanings of the biblical authors and thus undermine the veracity of the scripture. Their concern, while easily debatable, is most certainly _not_ without warrant. There is at least one word in the KJV that is generally agreed upon as a mistranslation. Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. The word witch was actually a word which referred to a poisoner, an ancient apothecary, what we would today call a pharmacist. (Note that modern medicines are recognized as _toxins_, but which, administered in controlled dosages are medicinal). There are many other points of contention re the accuracy of todays scripture. I once heard a pastor say that Holy Scripture is inspired which he said means God-breathed... Which is poetically beautiful. But later he said No new scripture is being written today. Scripture is no longer being written. So, does that _not_ mean that God is no longer breathing...? If God is no longer breathing, then werent the Hippies right...? But the Hippies were _not_ right, God still breathes and speaks, and the Bible is _not_ the Fourth Person of the Trinity! Books can be burned. But the Holy Truth is a fire itself which can never be consumed by a lesser fire.
