Im sitting here in the dark listening to the soft snore of our warrior. I have come to love this sound. He is pretty stinking wore out from battle today. The narcotics he is taking have him pretty loopy most of the day, but at least he isnt in too much pain.I am actually extremely surprised how coherent he still is with all of this crap running through his body. He is still quite spunky, even in his drugged stupor. His little tattoo is still high on his priority list. Out of a deep, drugged sleep he will demand I lather his tat up with Aquaphor. Taking his pain meds has become almost obsessive, for the fear of experiencing any pain. Yesterday, his friend Chase texted wanting to come hang with out, Nick texted back only if you bring twizzlers. Chase gladly hooked him up. Nick is such a funny kid. Tonight, before he went to sleep he requested everyone come pray with him, and if you were sleeping, he wanted you with us anyway. Sometimes he teeters along the side of bossy, but all of us just smile and do what he says. Thank you for the meals that have been provided, and for the well wishes Nick has received. The high light of his day was having us read cards and letters Nicks Army had sent to him. He loves hearing the different places they come from! We are so very blessed in the midst of this horrible storm. Thank you for carrying us at our weakest!
