Im sitting here looking at pictures of Civil Air Patrols International Air Cadet Exchange tours, which are happening all over the world, right now. I wish I could share them here, but they are from a private FB group (since there are foreign minors pictures). In short, Cadets like mine from all over the world have traveled to a host country and are touring things like the Pentagon, Iwo Jima memorial, Arlington Cemetery, National Air and Space Museum, the Special Air Ops Wing of the Luftwaffe, and Notre Dame Cathedral (just to name a few). 2013 attendees were from Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, and the US, and one of my Squadron-mates is helping to staff the tours in DC right now. From the IACE website: The purpose of our Association is to plan and run an annual, world-wide exchange for aviation-minded young people each July. Our members are drawn from 20 countries and include the Ghana National Cadet Corps, the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps, the Turkish Aeronautical Association and the UK Air Cadet Organisation. Each year we give over 500 young people the opportunity to expand their horizons, experience different cultures and make life-long friendships. I sincerely hope to see at least one of my Cadets in the pictures next year! What a crazy-awesome opportunity!
