Im sitting here on the phone with verizon FIOS internet. We are rated at 35/35 Download/Upload yet getting close to 1 to 6 download wireless and FIOS finds that "within acceptable levels" because apparently their wireless speeds are "not guaranteed". So much for a better faster internet. I guess they expect every customer to have a hardline connection throughout their entire house and things like iPads and cell phones are just SOL. I also have a tech on the line who is trying to tell me there is nothing wrong with my router when I used to get wireless speeds 4x this just a few weeks ago and now I dont, despite her and I both resetting the device, changing the channel and verifying there are no other wireless devices interfering. She tried to tell me things like a microwave can cause interference with the device. Now keep in mind my microwave is on the other side of the house and my laptop (Alienware no less with a high quality wireless card) is only 1 foot away from the router. The problem is clearly with their physical device. I had to call a supervisor to get them to admit it and recheck that they actually have a newer and better quality router available.
