Im sitting in the three tuns wetherspoons Thirsk yesterday. A text message comes through on my blower(phone). Sham, where are you today? Are you getting any nearer to Beverly? Im over here for the week and would love to meet up with you. Hazard replies, well Eamonn hows things sham? I actually going the other way. Im in Thirsk. Ok haz, Claire and I will take a drive over to you. Give us an hour and a half. For me this is a great buzz. My auld school mate and life long friend Eamonn Mcnamara from tuam in the county of Galway is calling over. Jeasus we had some mighty times down through the years. Underage drinking down the palace before the youth club in tuam way back in the early 80s. The mods and the rockers, quadrophi and all that craic. Getting a chase from the cops in tuam, nicking the Honda 50s from gilligans car park on a Saturday night from the farmers that used to come into town for a dozen pints. Swapping a Morris minor for a yamaha 125 in 1984, breaking my hand out in the sand hills on a Raleigh chopper when I was supposed to be in school in 82. I could go on for ever. Eamonn is wide for all the stories, sure everyone has their own sceals (stories) . Eamonn and Claire arrive and we have three pints and a bit of a laugh. Sham fair play to ye for calling over, its really great to meet people from home. They head on back to Beverly and haz makes his way to Toms pad. What a great day for me. Happy hazard.
