Im so glad that online forums and pages do not represent the reality of being out on the trail. Its so rare to get into a shouting match or even an argument on the trail (in my experience) and yet online, so many threads spiral into these perverse arguments that inevitably end up with people calling other people trolls, etc. Lets just go out and enjoy what ever we want to enjoy. For people on this page that involves hiking a stupid amount of miles. I guess Im just saying, dont fall into the online trap, and have if effect future relationships on the trail. If Johnny comes across as a dick on Facebook, I bet Johnny isnt going to come across that way on the trail. Ps. I also think the information one can gain on these sites can be invaluable.
