Im so happy for my hubs! He has wanted a motorcycle scooter for a long time and the one he wants is $1800. We have other goals for 2014 so it wasnt an option, but hes been scouring Craigslist for months. He finally found one... Drove to San Antonio Monday night and got it. $100 for a non-running $1000-$1200 scooter. With only 240 miles on it. He was pretty confident he could fix whatever the problem was (apparently the mechanics arent complicated). He tinkered with it and decided to replace the carburetor. Ordered it on Amazon for $35 next-day (love Amazon prime!) and installed it in 10 minutes. And it started right up! He ordered a few more parts as more of a maintenance thing and all in all I think he spent $215 (with the initial cost of the scooter). Im so happy for him and so proud of him :-) He rode it around the neighborhood at lunch today and had a blast. Its just for riding around our little town - it tops at maybe 50 mph. But hes beaming! For fathers day hes getting his motorcycle license (necessary for this scooter). It also needs to be registered, I think.
