Im so happy to hear McConnell and Boehner say their op-ed in todays Wall Street Journal, that one of the top items on their agenda is to restore the traditional 40-hour definition of full-time employment, removing an arbitrary and destructive government barrier to more hours and better pay created by the Affordable Care Act of 2010. Sounds great, right? What that really means is that if you work for a company with more than 50 people, your employer can cut your hours to 39 and not have to provide you with health care coverage. The ACA set the employer mandate at 30 hours on the reasonable theory that companies would be reluctant to cut full-time employees back to 29 hours. Looks like that Citizens United/Koch brothers money is about to pay back big-time. Suckers.
