Im so happy with my herd and the way my breeding program is - TopicsExpress

Im so happy with my herd and the way my breeding program is shaping up. Its been several months of hard work, time, and money - lots of money - but when I see that I am producing such a variety of excellent quality Baldwin, Cuy, Skinny and Teddy pigs, I realize its all been worth it. That said, when I made the decision to get into breeding, I did it with a few things in mind. First and foremost, I love these animals; I have always had an affinity for guinea pigs - I can remember asking my other as a young child for a guinea pig ... My first pet when I moved away from home was a guinea pig. I also did so with a background as a pet owner and serious rescuer ... The latter provided insight into the somewhat silly, petty, immature behavior and mindset of some of those who, like me, have chosen to share their lives with these animals. No problem, I thought, Im a strong and secure person, and I dont take much too personally. However, I must say, I have been disgusted, angered, irritated, annoyed, surprised and just plain hurt by some of the behavior of some in this hobby, and even so, unlike a few, Ive not once considered posting a childish Im selling all my pigs because people are so shitty rant ... Furthermore, thankfully, the idea has never crossed my mind because of the first point I made - these animals mean everything to me. I have devoted significant time and money to building and raising a solid, healthy, happy herd ... If my first inclination when PEOPLE upset me is to dump them and run, Id have to question whether or not I love them as much I say/think I do and question my own motivations for doing this at all. For me its always been clear - my animals are first. I have come to understand that is sadly NOT the case for some other breeders. On the flip side, I have also come to know some genuinely kind and wonderful people after embarking on this journey of breeding, and I am forever grateful for the friendships and relationships Ive come to enjoy because of them. (Most especially LaDona Gooch and Michelle Welter, you guys are the BEST!) So, now, after having said that (finally, it seems), here we are back at the most important thing - the piggies! Here are some litters born here since the last pics (and while I was reeling from some ugly human drama). Many are available for sale, so contact me if youre interested. My prices are as follows: Baldwins: $85-135 Cuy: $25-45 Skinnies: $80-120 Teddies: $20-40 Discounts on multiples or for any other reason I deem appropriate. I can, will, and have denied sale to any person for any reason, whether I wish to disclose said reason or not.
