Im so overwhelmed with emotion, watching the response over the last 12 days. Im struggling to find words with enough meaning. Saying thank you just seems so obvious and trite. Im not sure eloquence will join us for this message. It is times like these that, even though the list may be long, its not what Ive lost over the last four years that I should be focused on. Just look at the awesome (in the true meaning of the word) generosity and love being expressed from all facets of our lives. Old friends, new friends, family, friends of family, and family of friends, colleagues from every stage of both Amys and my careers, even strangers who stumbled upon the articles, have heard and answered our call for help. I see this and get the strong feeling that every connection we make, throughout our lives, is a lasting connection. Even when, as in my case, we fail to reach out and strengthen those connections. This may all sound like, to quote Lord Business, hippie dippie Bologna. But, what else is there to see? Never doubt the impact you have on those around you. It will be difficult for me to thank each of you enough. And, Ill never be able to repay your generosity. Instead, Im going to try to pay it forward. I dont exactly know how, yet, but my goal over the next couple of months is to figure out how to use what I have to give back. Somehow. To my family and my friends, old, new, and yet to meet, thank you.
