Im so weary of posts from Christian leaders about cheap grace. Although they would deny it, the phrase cheap grace is a common explanation given by those who believe Gods grace by itself is too cheap to save you, that you must add your works to Gods grace in order for God to allow you entrance to his kingdom. That message is so anti the message of Jesus. So anti the grace Jesus demonstrated during his earthly ministry, so antichrist. In fact, in their ABCs of Salvation (Admit youre a sinner. Believe in Jesus. Confess that he is your Lord.) What is the subject of each of those sentences? YOU! YOU! YOU! Wheres Jesus? You admit, you believe, you confess. Wheres Jesus? Where is his grace? Im not saying that the concept is all wrong, Im saying it focuses in the wrong place. When Jesus was specifically asked about salvation, his answer was that whoever believes in him would be saved. No mention of ABCs. In fact, he said salvation comes by being born again. How much does a baby have to do with its birth? In his same explanation, Jesus said salvation is a work of the Holy Spirit and compared it to the wind. How much control does a man have over an element he cannot even see? These leaders who are opposed to being saved only by grace would have a different message if they preached like Jesus.
