Im sorry. I dont usually use fowl language but this is a damn shame !!! This man is frustrated because hes constantly getting harassed by police because of his race. Exactly how MOST black men feel. Officers put him in an illegal choke hold, murder him (for no reason), evidence provided and the police officer walks. It this this isnt some frackanackle bull, tell me what is. Some of the so called prominent black men want to talk about how black men need to act in order to avoid harassment but you can be black and minding your own damn business and still be harassed. Prime example: husband and son coming home from a very late AAU game, exhausted. Approximately a block away from home. Heres the stereotype: Two black men, late at night, driving a car (that HE thinks they cant afford; must be drug related), heading to a mostly all white neighborhood. Police officer was walking back to his car (parked on side of road, just finished giving a ticket), as my family passes by him he glares into the car with questioning eyes. Son said the way he looked at them, he KNEW immediately the police was going to follow them. As they approached our neighborhood, lights came on. Husband was close enough to our street that he continued until he was at the end of our block. Cop has obviously called for backup because here comes another cop with lights blazing. Long story short, he pulled them over because ONE of the light bulbs (that lights the rear license plates; you know the bulbs that are as small as Christmas tree lights) was out. WTH !!!! Had it been two white men, same circumstances, would they have been pulled over??? HELL NO !!! Heres where the difference is: Husband and son KNOW how to respond (shouldnt have to deal with this). Pissed as all hell but know this can go one of two ways. After cop sees license and registration, realized these two black men LIVE in this neighborhood. Feel stupid? No, because thats what you do. Heres what YOU need to do: Get badge number, officer name, car number, whatever you can. Take time to write a letter about the harassment you received and send it (certified letter and keep the receipt) to the Chief of Police. You have to build a record for those cops that harass for driving while black. Then when they decide to unnecessarily harass or kill another black, hes got a file for harassment for racial profiling. Get PROACTIVE people !!!
