Im sorry...I just have to rant. A customer came into the store last week (40+ year smoker and about 1 1/2 packs a day). I set her up with a kit, and against my better judgement, she got liquid with no nicotine. Today she came back and wanted to return the kit....it seems that shed called the Vermont Quit Line and the woman she spoke to told her she should stop using it right away because it has anti-freeze in it. Also the woman went on to tell her that e-cigs caused her to get a kidney infection...what???!!!??? I called the quit line and spoke to a manager and voiced my concerns. I dont expect them to promote e-cigs but I also dont expect them to lie. While we were chatting he said they found anti-freeze in them and read from the 2009 study. I informed him that theyd only tested a few Chinese samples and had never been able to replicate those findings and furthermore it was an ingredient FOUND in anti-freeze, not antifreeze. Theyd never bothered to test American made liquids. No wonder so many people still smoke! End rant.....
