Im sorry that writing is torturous for some people when it could - TopicsExpress

Im sorry that writing is torturous for some people when it could be a joyful, creative experience. But for some it might be as difficult as I recently heard another writer describe it on his post. Im genuinely sad for those writers who find writing painful. Writing is not hard for me. I dont find it difficult or laborious. I find it pleasurable, like eating candy. Sometimes incorporating edits can be tedious, but even that can be a good experience. Time consuming? Its what I do to reward myself...after Ive completed all my mundane tasks and have to chores, I give myself the privilege and pleasure of writing. Uncertain? Non-lucrative? Depends on expectations. I hope to make money from my work and garner some recognition, sure, but for me, the act of writing a good book and finishing it satisfactorily is rewarding to the point of bliss. Frustrating? Sometimes, only if Im struggling with character development or a plot arc, or dealing with a bonehead, but mostly its not frustrating. It can be challenging, but thats a good thing. I am up for the challenge. When Im in the creative zone, Im energetic, I feel good, I fly high. My eyesight is fine, or at least no worse because of my writing. Ive not yet alienated one friend or family member because I write. Of course, I have the great good fortune of being surrounded by supportive friends and family, and Ive a husband who works so I can write. I know thats not true for everyone, so I cant judge other writers because their dedication to their craft may have alienated friends and family. Im sorry for them...that has to be so painful. Maybe Im just blessed with splendid fortune all the way around so thats why writing is easy and pleasurable for me. Does writing drive me crazy? Hell no. What drives me crazy is not writing. When I cannot write, I feel off-centered, unbalanced, unfulfilled. I love to write Yes, indeed.
