Im speechless! There are many distinctive features Nashville is known for, and many of its attractions that as the current, so-callled it city, are outstanding and work as augmentations to the quality of life, as well as to the tourist biz. That said, its a well-known fact among folk that travel just a teeny-weeny bit, or that just pay a little attention, that BBQ is solidly NOT one of these. We dont know BBQ from our ass, a random hole in the ground, or the furry crack of a rats behind. We are profoundly BBQ-challenged. We suck at BBQ, we suck at it hard, deep and long, and those who require it as an essential part of The Good Life either do it themselves or do without. The article mentions some chi-chi formica eatery that serves BBQ sushi, presumably to drunken bachelorette parties. That isnt just a red flag, its a neon sign announcing total unfamiliarity with the culinary art form on the part of the pollsters. At least they had the good sense to not mention Whitts steamed meat or the little cups of yellow weewee they call sauce instead of specimen. Ew. Memphis and Kansas City, 2nd and 3rd on the list should be highly insulted. Other than that, Im wishy-washy on the subject. Play de blues!
