Im split over Scottish independence. Fans - let me share my thoughts. ;) Part of me wants it to be yes, so that England, Wales and Northern Ireland are free from this costly, tartan-ribboned burden that tightens around the UKs neck. No more paying for Scotlands free health prescriptions, free university tuition and who knows what else. Their economy is weak with higher unemployment and their life expectancy is shockingly low after copious gallons of booze and tonnes of deep-fried mars bars. This poor health means more money is spent on healthcare per head in Scotland than anywhere in the UK. Why do we want to pay for this in return for dated xenophobia and wanton ungratefulness? Essentially, I would like them to go alone, lose the pound and suffer when they realise they cannot run their weak economy or country as successfully as they could with the generous UK subsides. Let them have the euro and become the European Unions problem should they need bailing out. Ill have my Will & Grace I told you so dance ready... Also, if Scotland becomes independent, we lose Andy Murray. Hurrah! Now that HAS to be something worth seriously considering! Even if youre a fan of unity, this has to be your every cloud... moment. Maybe this is - dare I day it - the deal breaker! Then theres my darker side... The other part of me wants Scotland to remain, but not for unity, collaboration or solidarity. I want them to remain so they can be punished for this coup and controlled like a rebel movement. Let England be Susan Collins Capitol and Scotland a mere District. Teach them equality and strip them of their free healthcare prescriptions and free university tuition or at least take their bast oil reserves as payment. Also, this will gleefully upset the xenophobes. Why do I have such strong views about Scotland? I cannot stand their xenophobia which is highlighted even more in this vote for independence. Scotland still holds a hatred for England and the UK due to a harsh and brutal history. Get over it, Braveheart! You dont see us still holding the young German people of today accountable for Hitlers evil deeds.
