Im starting day one of my 7 day gratitude challenge. Im 2 days late. But here we go... This is not easy to do because I feel grateful for just about everything...When I try to break it down it seems to come down to only a handful of big things. 1ST thing Im grateful for is simply being alive... I realize that being alive is something youre born with and requires very little effort...However, those that know me well know that I have made being alive much harder than it had to be with a lifetime of wreckless decisions and a complete indifference to my own self destruction... For me being alive is not only a gift its a miracle I survived...Im grateful for life.. 2ND thing Im grateful for is being a happy woman that truly loves and accepts her self completely...That has been a life long uphill battle for me...I have only just known how it feels to be happy for a couple of years... Its so much better than I could have ever imagined... I realize that its remarkable that someone like me was ever able to find it... But I did...I did it all by myself.. 3rd thing Im grateful for are my children and my grand children.... My children became my whole world the day they were born... I was on a mission to make sure they always knew they were loved, important and mattered... I was obsessed with making sure they never experienced the feeling of not mattering...They are now grown beautiful young women that are living normal lives...They seem to be so much more together and confident than I was at 40...I have the three most beautiful granddaughters in the world. I love them as much as anyone could love anyone...The oldest baby Haylee has a way of making me smile and tear up at the same time just with her smile... Im very grateful for my girls... They saved me from myself just by being born...Love you Ashley Durkee & Jacee-lynn Burke....
