Im supposed to list 9 things people dont know about me? Im such an open book, Im not sure I can come up with 9, but here goes: 1. I love movies--Ive seen The Godfather, Godfather 2, Goodfellas, Platoon, the Pianist and Saving Private Ryan each at least 30 times (in my estimation). 2. I carry, in my golf bag, a Tommy Armour R-91 sand wedge which is 30+ years old and it is still the most reliable club in my bag (traded to me by my Uncle Dave Evans for a Zebra putter just as I was graduating from high school…the Zebra was his, by the way) 3. I wanted to be a dentist, but was such a miserable failure at high school chemistry and physics that I gave up the dream by the time I was 17 (the same guy who taught me physics was my calculus teacher and I was such a bad calculus student that he pinned my exam up on the board for the whole class to see the one and only time I a scored 100) 4. I was a CPA before law school and started my legal career as a tax lawyer and despite that fact, I cant remember the last time I prepared my own tax return or balanced my checking account 5. Ron Santo, Dick Butkus and Jack Nicklaus are my 3 all time sports heroes 6. My father was blind and I learned how to read, in part, by being forced (by my mother) to read the newspaper and portions of his college and law school text books to him 7. I was the president of my fraternity (Lambda Chi Alpha) at Illinois State University 8. Even though I dont see all that much of them, I am still friends with my high school buddies, Joe Metcalf, Derek Ding (Jennifer Reynolds Ding), Kevin Hunsinger (Tresa Buhs Hunsinger), John Clinebell and Mark Funkhouser Gloria Funkhouser)…now that was a fun bunch of guys… 9. I met Erin Brandt on Match…and Im no longer embarrassed to admit it for if you know her, you know that I out-kicked my coverage when she agreed to marry me And…for good measure, Im gonna write a 10th... 10. This isnt likely a surprise, but I adore my children, Kelsey Strode, Michael Strode and Emma Strode (even though she refuses my Facebook friend requests)
