Im sure a few of you saw this post coming. Two weeks ago, DigBoston ran a cover story by John Ruch (link below) about the aftermath of the Atlanta Olympics as a cautionary tale for the Hub. Today, on Page One of The Boston Globe, the same story magically appeared -- shamelessly using one of our sources, the term white elephant, and so on. Im not naive. And god knows the Globe has stolen from the alts and local pubs before. But while it was inevitable that they would eventually do such a piece, this is one jack I find particularly grotesque considering the overall rosy picture they painted of Atlanta. Barely a mention of the displaced people and rubble left behind. Kind of like their coverage of rapidly gentrifying Boston. For a moment I was going to wage an all-out Twitter assault on the hack who cut the Globe turd. But I wont give him the satisfaction. Thats what they expect from me.
