Im sure all of you know of the little island of Jamaica. The place made famous by Jerk Chicken, Bob Marley and the Reggae genre, the inspiring Bobsled team and of course the fastest man on 2 legs, Usain Bolt. Unfortunately there is a lesser known issue that doesnt make global headlines. The protection of the last public beach in Jamaica. The last public beach you say? Yes. The last beach that you dont have to PAY to swim at. Just imagine going to your local beach in Australia and having to PAY to swim in it! Well for the local people of Jamaica this is a reality. Surrounded by beautiful, tranquil beaches and they are not allowed access to them, let alone afford to PAY for it! Winnifred Beach in Portland, Jamaica is the only beach you can swim on the island for FREE and access without a GUARDS permission. I will post a great video detailing what is happening here but in the meantime attached is a petition to protect Winnifred Beach from greedy developers. Get Up, Stand Up!
