Im sure no one will mourn my loss, but I am leaving this group. It is becoming a forum for bickering, and the closet racists who bemoan and begrudge a tin of beans for someone because they happen to be from another country. My greatest joy in the Yes movement was the inclusive nature of the movement. The fact that we were trying to move away from the UKIP mentality, and the Daily Mail lies about foreigners getting it all, and us hardworking indigenous people getting nothing. It would appear not all have moved on with the rest of us, so when I see threads continue on the help our own first it saddens me. I believed we had found common ground, and understood that our own was anyone who had chosen to make Scotland their home. It would seem that for many, that still isnt the case. It breaks my heart to see the wonderful, joyous Yes movement, which galvanised so many of us to look to a brighter future, fragment and break down into cliques and Im alright Jacks again. I still continue to hope and pray for Independence, and I would sincerely hope that a new Scotland would be more compassionate and inclusive. I wish you all well. Saor Alba. x
